One of five historic Spanish colonial missions built by the Franciscan Order in the mid-1700s. Frescoes, granary, sanctuary
12:00 Riverwalk, Lunch – local specialty (extra) Famed conservation project from the 1930s by the banks of the San Antonio River. Dutch-treat at nearby Italian, Tex-Mex, Asian, or American café. Strolling, shopping, frequent live music.
1:00 The Alamo Shrine of Texas Liberty – chapel, Long Barrack exhibits, monuments, ongoing presentations, gift shop
2:00 Depart downtown Through spacious Brackenridge Park to Sunken Gardens: fish ponds, plantings, stone gazebo in former quarry.
2:30 Depart San Antonio Quick freeway trip back north through New Braunfels and San Marcos
